Realizing the ideal public life is the core concern of Confucianism. Confucianism emphasizes the identityof moral metaphysics which helps community members form the consensus on the world and life, publicizes thespirit of ritual governance thereby providing institutional guarantee for benevolence as well as promoting self-regulation under public principles, proposes the ethical principle of publicity priority which guides people tomake behavior choice and value judgment in favor of public society, attaches importance to empathy andconsideration of others, advocates the ideal of great harmony by picturing the vision of a possible life of ashared future for mankind. Additionally, Confucianism is of great significance in traditional Chinese publiclife, its vitality calls also for further attention in contemporary China.
